Who we're looking for

We are looking to hire a talented Technical Project Manager to join our growing team in Hong Kong.

The role

Your role will be to lead project delivery as part of a cross functional team. You will manage the team, including vendors, to deliver to scope, schedule and budget, while maintaining quality standards. You will be an integral part of the team, ensuring we put our Users first. You will be an advocate for prioritizing “quick viable deployments” over scope creep/feature bloat. Having basic technical acumen, you will help support our developers with any blockers which may arise.

What you will be doing in this role

Manage project scope and objectives - ensure everyone works as “one team”, and are aligned on process, objectives and timelines
Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and resource plan
Performance tracking and reporting - compile project plans and provide regular updates on progress
Strong stakeholder management; manage expectations with scope/timelines/RAID as things change (our company is very dynamic!)
Change management - ensure awareness is communicated earlier on and provide as little disruptions to our everyday operations as possible
Perform risk management to minimize potential risks
Project budget and forecasting (including vendors, timesheeting and invoicing)
Escalate any issues early and clearly communicate the issues/problems with possible solutions
Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
Knowledge about roles and responsibilities within the team and the accountability that comes with each role
Ensure quality assurance processes are defined and followed, and that quality/defect reports are provided
Ensure the process of post-production support is defined and followed
Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement and maintain a lessons log for team improvements and project improvements
Maintain documentation repository for all estimates, project plans, project statuses, and related project artifacts
Ensure good communication between teams inside and outside the project to maintain flow of information
Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution

About you

5+ years experience in project managing end-to-end technical deliverables within outlined scope, budget, and timeline
Experience with managing software and/or mobile development projects a big plus
Familiarity with React framework on desktop and mobile is a big plus
Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices (e.g. JIRA/Confluence)
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Scrum concepts, capable to lead basic scrum ceremonies
Excellent facilitation and stakeholder management skills; across each discipline (e.g. Tech, Product, Marketing) and across all levels of seniority
Strong Vendor Management skills
Able to communicate effectively with engineers, product owners, designers, and all leadership levels
Able to help others make sense of complicated sets of issues and tasks and to simplify them for stakeholders
Able to lead when the team requires more direction
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Able to identify opportunities for improvement and implement them in a pragmatic way
Fluency in English (written and spoken) and Chinese (spoken) is required; comfortable working with diverse teams and cultures
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

‍Preferred Qualifications

Domain knowledge of financial products (Preferred)
PMP/PSM/PRINCE2 certified (Nice to have)
Experience in a software industry role (Nice to have)
