Who we're looking for

We are looking for a Senior Manager, IT Application to join our WeLend team.

What you will be doing

Lead and take the ownership of WeLend’s digital financial and data platforms, products and services, engineering processes and culture
Work with internal and external stakeholders, tech and non-tech users for requirements, collaborations and integrations
React to fast pace changes due to business goals and compliance issues
Continuously revamping and refactoring our code and architecture using modern technologies to support business growth
Integrate new changes from internal feature enhancements and external modules/variants, and yet maintain a sustainable architecture of the platforms
Lead a team of on-shore and off-shore software and data engineers and drive their performance, ensure technical resources are spent efficiently and effectively
Manage L2 and L3 BAU application support
Work closely with DevOps and SRE teams to support CI/CD pipeline and application performance monitoring
Provide technical guidance to the team in delivery of technical solutions, perform code review and maintain coding standards and best practices
Monitor the software development lifecycle and release processes according to software engineering policies and procedures
Prepare technical documentations, including technical proposal, design document and engineering logs
Conduct knowledge sharing sessions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Explore modern development trends, tech stacks and tools, and influence the teams to adopt

What is required and what we’re looking for:

Bachelor’s Degree or above in Computer Science, Information Engineering or related disciplines
15+ years’ relevant experience in software engineering, 4+ years’ in a leadership role
Solid experience in managing and delivering complex customer-facing and in-house software applications and systems.
Experience in managing technical staff in multiple locations
Excellent skills and knowledge in one or more of the following programming languages and frameworks: Ruby on Rails, Go-Lang, Typescript, Python, ReactJS, Node.JS, Google Flutter, Java.
Familiar with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, GraphQL, and other SQL or NoSQL databases
Strong experience and knowledge in API, system integration, microservices, business reporting, OOP and software engineering concepts and best practices
Experience and knowledge in cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP), modern CI/CD pipeline and tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, GitLab, SonarQube
Experience in Data Warehouse, ETL, data visualization and reporting is an advantage
Proven track record in development and delivery using appropriate methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Kanban)
Strong project management skills and certification is preferred
Strong communication skills, ability to work with senior management executives and non-technical stakeholders
Fluent in verbal and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua)
